REPRESENTATIVES FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF GÄVLE (SWEDEN) VISIT THE UMH

José Chilo, associate professor and researcher at the University of Gävle (HIG, Sweden), visited the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) on Friday, February 19, accompanied by Yvonne Mårtenson, coordinator of the Office for International Relations at the HIG. The Swedish university representatives were welcomed by Ausias Garrigós, Deputy Vice Rector for International Relations at the UMH; Inmaculada Blaya, Director of the Service of International Relations, Development Cooperation and Volunteerism; and Alberto Rodríguez, Deputy Director of International Relations from the School of Engineering of Elche (EPSE).

While at the UMH, Associate Professor Chilo led a conference entitled Studies and Research in Electronics (Telecommunications and Automation), directed at students and faculty from telecommunications engineering, electronics, and automation. During his talk, Professor Chilo publicized the training and research opportunities available at the University of Gävle, in addition to the projects ongoing there.

The visit was coordinated by Associate Professor Alberto Rodríguez, who stressed the possibility of strengthening relations with the University of Gävle, offering students from both institutions the possibility to improve their education. Along these lines, Mårtenson declared that the Miguel Hernández University is a university with a good location, one that offers students a wide variety of activities, both academic as well as leisure.
