The University of Franche-Comté and the Bachelor’s in Audiovisual Communication to sign an Erasmus agreement for students and faculty

The IUT Belfort-Montbéliard of the University of Franche-Comté visited the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) yesterday to work on an Erasmus agreement to permit mobility for students and faculty from the Journalism and Audiovisual Communication programs. With this in mind, the French university representative, Anne-Christine Gaber, along with the UMH coordinator for projection of the Bachelor’s in Audiovisual Communication, Montserrat Jurado Martín, discussed program curricula and the specific courses that students from both institutions could take. Ms. Gaber also expressed a keen interest in the possibility of her students in carrying out professional internships during their UMH stays.

Furthermore, the meeting will facilitate the future exchange of experiences that extend beyond the Erasmus agreement signing, and include collaboration between the University of Franche-Comté and the UMH Department of Social and Human Sciences with its academic publication, the Miguel Hernández Communication Journal, to the possibility of the French institution hosting or participating in the 2019 edition of the International Student Film Project. For her part, the French representative stated that her university is interested in inviting UMH faculty who are expert in film, journalism, communications, and new digital technologies to offer seminars and conferences to enrich the training of students there.
