During the first week of October, Emir Karamehmedovic, an associate professor of electrical and electronics engineering at the International University of Sarajevo, worked at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche alongside investigators from the UMH Photonic Systems Group. The main objective of his visit was to carry out experimental verification of a ring laser sensor system suitable for detecting upconverting nanoparticles.

This action was funded by the European Cooperation in Science and Technology program and is part of internationalization activities fostered by the UMH Vice Rectorate for International Relations.

The Photonic Systems Group is comprised of faculty assigned to the Signal Theory and Communications area from the UMH Department of Communications Engineering. This group’s main objectives include R&D in photonic devices and systems, with special focus placed on their use in information and communications technology.
