Tordesillas Doctoral College<\/strong><\/h2>\n

UMH, up next to host the Tordesillas Group<\/strong><\/p>\n

In November 2019, the 20th meeting of Rectors of the Tordesillas Group was held at the Fluminense Federal University in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.  During this event, the rector of the Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez University of Elche (UMH), Juan Jos\u00e9 Ruiz Mart\u00ednez, was named Vice President of the Tordesillas Group and a member of its Executive Commission. In 2021, Mart\u00ednez will assume the presidency of the Tordesillas Group, and the UMH will be host for the 21st meeting of the Rectors of the Tordesillas Group.<\/p>\n

A Tordesillas Doctoral College is a free association formed by institutions from the countries that comprise the Tordesillas Group (Brazil, Portugal, and Spain) and supported by the Rectors from the Group.<\/p>\n

UMH and the Tordesillas Group<\/strong><\/p>\n

In its nearly 20 years of existence, the Tordesillas Group has grown, and today it is comprised of 26 universities from Brazil, 20 from Spain, and 9 from Portugal. Participation by the UMH has been very active since the creation, in July 2017, and this university\u2019s coordination of the Tordesillas Doctoral School of Public Health and History of Science.<\/p>\n

Other participants in the doctoral college besides the UMH include the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Porto (Portugal) and the faculties of Medicine and Public Health at the University of S\u00e3o Paulo (Brazil).<\/p>\n

Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n

The main purpose of the Tordesillas Group is to establish academic, cultural, and socioeconomic links among all of its members. This includes promoting multilateral cooperation activities in the fields of education, science, technology, and innovation.    <\/p>\n

Furthermore, one of its fundamental pillars is to establish research networks that foster mobility for investigators and give rise to projects of strategic value, oriented to the problems that affect and influence progress within the Iberian-Brazilian community.<\/p>\n

UMH grants for students of dual degree programs<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Enhancing the international presence of the UMH, and taking advantage of the opportunities resulting from globalization to train our students, thus improving their career prospects, as well as attracting international talent to our campuses, are among this university\u2019s priority objectives.<\/p>\n

Procedure for implementing dual degrees at the UMH<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n
International exchange programs represent a significant opportunity for universities and students. In this context, the UMH aims to expand the opportunities existing at the international level through the promotion of dual undergraduate, masters, and PhD programs with foreign universities.<\/div>\n
