It is in a strategic position, forming, together with other nearby towns, the southern axis of the Mediterranean Arc, a district that boasts great dynamism in both demographic and economic terms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Elche is in an area with good land, sea, and air connections. The Alicante-Elche Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez Airport (ALC)<\/a> is located nearby and it is also close to the provincial capital\u2019s seaport<\/a><\/strong>. Road connections<\/a><\/b> are also good, linking it to Mediterranean tollways and the freeway to Madrid, while its rail links include a station for Spain’s AVE bullet train.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Sant Joan d\u2019Alacant<\/a><\/strong> sits 10 km northeast of Alicante. There are two bus routes from Alicante<\/strong><\/a> (lines 20H and 23<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

Orihuela<\/strong><\/a> is located 30 km south of Elche. There are regular buses or trains to and from Elche and Alicante.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

Altea<\/strong><\/a> is located 53 km north of Alicante. Arrive to Altea by either taking a bus<\/strong><\/a> from the airport or from Alicante, or by riding the TRAM<\/strong><\/a> from Alicante.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
