The international presence of the Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez University is progressively growing, just as the latest data from the Service of International Relations, Development Cooperation and Volunteerism show. The number of students, faculty, and staff who will complement their training in other countries (both within the European Union and beyond) is to increase with respect to the 2014\/2015 academic year.<\/p>\n

The ERASMUS exchange program is that sought most by Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez University students. Throughout 2015\/2016, the number of outgoing UMH students to study at foreign universities is to increase by almost 30% with respect to the previous year. Data also reveal that the number of incoming students from abroad who choose the Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez University as a destination to complement their education is to increase by nearly 20%.<\/p>\n

UMH undergraduate programs in greatest demand by international students include medicine (from Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic, and Poland), pharmacy (Poland and France), journalism (Romania, Poland, and France), law (Italy), and business administration and management (Germany, Italy, and Poland). UMH students of engineering, telecommunications, medicine, and pharmacy apply for the most ERASMUS grants, and Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Italy are their most popular destinations. To support them financially, the UMH provides \u20ac120,000 to the ERASMUS program, and this is invested in mobility insurance for the participating students and in supplementary aid to grants from the European Commission.<\/p>\n

Another UMH international exchange program is the Destino program. It is directed at students, faculty, and staff alike, promoting mobility for the UMH community to foreign countries beyond the European Union. Data show that the number of outgoing students bound for universities in countries outside the EU is to grow by 40% this year. The undergraduate programs participating most in Destino are journalism, fine arts, psychology, and occupational therapy, and the most popular destinations are Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Peru, Argentina, and Uruguay.<\/p>\n

The number of students from universities outside the European Union enrolling at the UMH to complete their education has also grown considerably; the number of incoming students in the Destino program is to increase by almost 60% with respect to last year. Financial aid for this program is provided by 15 grants of \u20ac3,000 each from Santander Bank along with a contribution by the UMH for the Destino program for 10 grants of the same amount.<\/p>\n
