On November 6 \u2013 8, 2022, the Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez University of Elche (UMH) is hosting the 21st Meeting of Rectors of the Tordesillas Group<\/strong>, of which the Elche university currently holds this group\u2019s presidency. This meeting, whose registration period has now opened, is featuring a comprehensive academic and social program for its attendees.<\/p>\n

The inaugural address and welcome will be presided over by UMH rector, Juan Jos\u00e9 Ru\u00edz Mart\u00ednez, along with participation by the rector from the University of Brasilia, M\u00e1rcia Abrah\u00e3o Moura, who is to be this group\u2019s next president. Other participants in this address include the rectors from the universities of Rio de Janeiro, Lisbon, and Valladolid.<\/p>\n

Experts on open science are participating in this meeting, and included among them are Eloy Rodrigues, from the University of Minho, in addition to Bianca Amaro, president of LA Referencia. This meeting will then culminate with the closing conference presented by researcher from the Center for Humanities and Social Sciences at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Antonio Lafuente Garc\u00eda.<\/p>\n

This academic program is being held under the slogan of \u201cOpen Science: A Step towards Accessible, Global and Democratic Knowledge,\u201d and it also offers an extensive social program that consists of cultural and tourist visits around the city of Elche.<\/p>\n

This event affords significant visibility for and international projection of the UMH, and it coincides with this university\u2019s 25th anniversary. To take full advantage of this opportunity, the city of Elche, along with its historical and cultural heritage, will also be showcased for event participants.<\/p>\n
