\"\"<\/a>The Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez University of Elche has expressed its support for the Zero Poverty Movement, a campaign which over 10 days, various social organizations, institutions, and very diverse platforms from different fields collaborate, claiming that it is possible to end poverty with only decided will and by complying with signed international commitments.<\/p>\n

The campaign this year aims to denounce the causes of poverty and proposes to \u201creset the system\u201d to change the reality and to eliminate the causes of poverty, making its eradication an international political priority, guaranteeing coherence and political and budgetary coherence and stability in official developmental aid. Likewise, it advocates changing an economic model that generates exclusion, and instead place people and the planet at the center of solutions. To achieve this, the campaign considers that civil society is fundamental so that the fight against poverty effectively constitutes an international priority.<\/p>\n

Its website, www.probresazero.org<\/a>, publishes a manifesto that makes an explicit call for all sectors of society to commit themselves effectively and urgently in the fight against poverty and inequality. Throughout the week, various concentrations will be held around locations of the Valencian autonomous community. The first concentration is taking place in Alicante on Friday, October 14, at 6 p.m. local time in the Plaza de Luceros; they then continue Saturday, October 15, at 5 p.m., in the plaza of the Elche City Hall and at 6 p.m. in the plaza of the Valencian City Hall. Then, on Monday, October 17, another concentration is taking place at 11 a.m. in the Plaza de la Panderola del Grao de Castell\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

The Area of Development Cooperation and Volunteerism at the UMH is fully committed to the Sustainable Development Goals of the Agenda 2030 of the UN and with all these kinds of activities. By supporting campaigns such as Pobreza Cero, you can contribute to the eradication of poverty, and therefore, to development in a world and society that is more just and egalitarian.   <\/p>\n
