The Bachelor\u2019s in Physiotherapy program of the Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez University of Elche (UMH) is to host\u00a0the First European Interuniversity Meeting of Physiotherapy<\/strong>, which will permit Danish students to learn about the dynamics of the training\u00a0and clinical practice of the Bachelor\u2019s in Physiotherapy at the UMH. The event is to take place from March 7-11 on the Sant Joan d\u2019Alacant campus and at various hospitals throughout the province.<\/p>\n

Attending the meeting are 20 students and two faculty members from the University College South Denmark (UC SYD)<\/a>. The students are taking part in theoretical and practical teaching activities of physiotherapy at the Faculty of Medicine. One day will be dedicated to visiting clinical practice centers at various hospitals throughout the province. To accomplish this, each Danish student will count on assistance from a UMH student to accompany and guide them throughout the day. Furthermore, each center will have a tutor of reference on hand to assist with each stay.<\/p>\n

A workshop on March 11 with various groups of students and faculty will examine the different techniques and areas of physiotherapy intervention. Some of the projects being developed in the Healthy UMH program<\/strong> related to this science will also be presented. Following the conferences, the Danish students will be accompanied to the Area of Anatomy, where they will conduct a practical training session in the dissection room.<\/p>\n

The visit is part of the internationalization activities of the programs promoted by the UMH, and has been coordinated by Assistant Professor and Associate Dean of the Bachelor\u2019s in Physiotherapy, Jos\u00e9 Vicente Toledo<\/strong>. UMH faculty from the area of physiotherapy is also involved, and future lines of collaboration with the participating Danish faculty will be planned in one of the workshops.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
