<\/a>The second edition of the Medicine and Humanities Study Abroad program concludes with conferral of diplomas to UTSA students<\/strong><\/p>\nThis morning, in the Francisco Javier Balmis Building on the UMH San Juan Campus, diplomas were conferred to University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) student participants in the Medicine and Humanities Study Abroad program by Deputy Vice Rector for International Projection and Communication, Jos\u00e9 Luis Gonz\u00e1lez Esteban. This act represented the culmination of the second edition of this program.<\/div>\n

After a month of diverse activities and lectures, the UTSA students learned about Spanish culture & history, public health & preventive medicine, hospital management, the Mediterranean diet, and they also improved their Spanish language skills.<\/div>\n

The UTSA students were interviewed at Radio UMH, where they talked about their program experiences. Other study abroad activities included a visit to the Spanish Civil War Interpretive Center in Alicante, Elda Hospital, UMH Clinical Simulation Center in San Juan, and they also toured the UMH Elche Campus before partaking in a wine and food tasting extravaganza featuring local and Spanish gastronomy in the Rectorado Building Dining Hall.<\/div>\n

The Deputy Vice Rector lauded the work and dedication of both the UTSA students and Melissa Wallace, a UTSA faculty member who accompanied them throughout the study abroad program. Jos\u00e9 Luis Gonz\u00e1lez also highlighted his desire that this month of training at the UMH serves to help them advance their professional careers moving forward.<\/span><\/div>\n

This same morning, prior to the final act, the UTSA students concluded the fifth and final program module on language training related to healthcare.<\/div>\n
