\"\"<\/a><\/span>Last week, Rectorate Hall welcomed 37 students from the Dominican Republic who have come to Elche to begin master\u2019s programs at the UMH. These students are here because they are all recipients of study grants from that country\u2019s Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCyT).<\/p>\n

UMH Rector, Juan Jos\u00e9 Ruiz, along with Vice Rector for Internationalization and Cooperation, Vicente Micol, and Ibero-America Espejo Program Director, Joaqu\u00edn Juli\u00e1n Pastor, gave them warm welcomes. At this presentation ceremony, the students were able to get to know one another better, they learned about the installations and services available to them by the Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez University of Elche, and any questions that they posed were resolved.<\/p>\n

Micol encouraged the students to study hard and to take advantage of all aspects that the university offers, including Vida UMH, gastronomical, cultural, and sporting activities, plus learning about the social outlets on the university campuses.<\/p>\n

The UMH and the MESCyT have been strengthening ties for years via the Ibero-America Espejo Program. This is a program that fosters participation by UMH faculty in master\u2019s and doctoral programs in Latin America in addition to promoting relations with the Caribbean country so Dominican students can study in Spain at the UMH.<\/p>\n

In fact, during 2024, the Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez University has consolidated its presence in the Dominican Republic through the inclusion of six doctoral programs that are going to involve participation by close to 70 UMH professors. These faculty members are going to be teaching classes in the Dominican within the framework of the Ibero-America Espejo program.<\/p>\n
