<\/a><\/span>The first portion of the twelfth edition of the UMH International Development Cooperation program in Rwanda has concluded after nearly two weeks of work wherein the university volunteers provided training for the teaching faculty at the Apeki Tumba and Saint Vicent de Paul G.S. Nemba I schools.<\/p>\nSpecifically, the UMH imparted lessons on tools of artificial intelligence, web design, waste management, reusable pads, student support, communication & leadership, the female reproductive system, contraceptive methods, plus research on the healthcare field.<\/p>\n
Participants in the first group of volunteers included faculty from the UMH departments of Clinical Medicine and Statistics, Mathematics & Informatics; graduates of Psychology, Business Administration & Management, and Journalism; in addition to graduates of the master\u2019s of Teacher Training and Infectious Diseases and International Health.<\/p>\n
A second group of volunteers is set to travel to the African country in mid-July, and their stays will be a month long, after which this edition will conclude. For this edition, there were 53 applications to participate submitted, and this year the Generalitat Valenciana is also providing program funding.<\/p>\n
