The reception provided an opportunity to learn firsthand about the students’ academic experiences, exchange views on their stays in Spain, and strengthen ties of university cooperation between the two countries. During the 2026–2027 academic year, the UMH is hosting a total of 38 Dominican students on MESCyT scholarships, bringing the total number of Dominican students who have pursued master’s degrees at the UMH over the past six academic years to 186.

During its stay, the Dominican delegation also visited the facilities of PLD Space, an aerospace company that emerged from the entrepreneurial ecosystem linked to the UMH and has become a leader in the European space sector. The visit provided an opportunity to showcase the university’s potential in entrepreneurship, knowledge transfer, and the creation of technology-based companies (spin-offs and start-ups), as well as to present a success story of a business initiative that began at the UMH.
