REPRESENTATIVES FROM 26 EUROPEAN UNIVERSITIES TO PARTICIPATE IN THE UMH INTERNATIONAL STAFF WEEK

Participants from the second UMH International Staff Week.

The Service of International Relations, Development Cooperation and Volunteerism is holding UMH International Staff Week III to promote the Erasmus+ program. From May 21-25, a total of 32 participants will visit the Miguel Hernández University of Elche to learn about and share knowledge about international mobility and other professional issues.

Attending this event are representatives from 26 universities in 11 countries, including Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Slovakia. UMH Vice Rector for International Relations, Vicente Micol, will welcome them on Monday, and the service director, Inma Blaya, will explain the work that goes on in said service. “Sound and Healthy UMH” is this event’s main theme, the participants will visit and participate with Radio UMH, and they will also take a field trip to the Campus of Fine Arts (Altea) to experience activities and surroundings there firsthand.

Furthermore, among the UMH services and initiatives being showcased is a session on the integration of students with disabilities and visits to different UMH units, including the Service of Communication and athletic installations. The European participants will also get to meet the mobility coordinators and persons involved in exchange programs at the UMH, with the objective of exchanging ideas and experiences and strengthening ties.

In November 2016, the UMH held this event’s second edition, and the response by those in attendance was very positive. In this manner, the projection strategy by the Vice Rectorate for International Relations is to continue fostering these types of encounters to strengthen internationalization at home and fortify synergies between European universities.
