Volunteerism
The UMH is involved in various national and international volunteering initiatives and projects.
Among them, we would like to highlight:
Itinerary of the UMH volunteer
This itinerary proposed by the Area of Development Cooperation and Volunteerism at the UMH aims to be a process of dynamic and flexible experiential learning, with different milestones for the comprehensive learning of the aspects of volunteering actions and international development cooperation.
During the summer months of July, August, and September each year, groups of volunteers made up of UMH community members, travel to our ‘fifth campus’ in Nemba, Rwanda (Gakenke District, Northern Province) to spend 4 weeks in country with locals on training activities and development cooperation endeavors linked to education and health.
The UMH, in conjunction with the Spanish Red Cross, has implemented a volunteering program that places telephone calls to alleviate loneliness in elders caused by Covid-19 quarantines and the associated restrictions.
The UMH Area of Development Cooperation and Volunteerism collaborates with NGOs to publicize their volunteer efforts and projects.
