The Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) will be the host of the Third Conference on International Promotion of Spanish Higher Education on November 25 & 26, 2021. This event is being organized by the Internationalization and Cooperation unit of the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE).
The Auditorium of the Rectorado & Consejo Social Building is the site for this conference. Its first day, November 25, features the annual working meeting by the CRUE international promotion subgroup. Then on the 26th, the UMH will lead meetings and debates on four themed blocks related to international promotion of Spanish higher education, which is especially relevant right now due to the repercussions from Covid-19.
The conference is clearly international in nature, as its participants include some 70 experts from Spanish and international universities, in addition to other invited guests from EU countries and other continents. In fact, this event is one of the principal meetings in terms of international promotion of Spanish universities. The previous edition of the conference took place at the University of A Coruña, and there the UMH committed itself to host the 2020 edition, but that ultimately proved impossible due to the pandemic, and so it was delayed until this fall. The November event is committed to being held in situ, and conference sessions will also be streamed over university networks.
Members of the organizing committee of this edition of the conference include professors Reyes Alejano, from the University of Huelva; Tomás Lorenzana, from the University of Almería, Pilar García de la Torre, from the University of A Coruña; and Sebastián Bruque, from the University of Jaén. Representing the Miguel Hernández University are Vice Rector for International Relations, Vicente Micol; Deputy Vice Rector for International Relations – International Projection, José Luis González; and Director of the Service of International Relations, Development Cooperation and Volunteerism, Inma Blaya.
