UMH offers intercultural workshop with volunteers and activists

The event represented the finishing touch on the volunteering program on international development cooperation

The Director of the Service of International Relations, Development Cooperation and Volunteerism, Inmaculada Blaya, welcomed a group comprised of volunteers, migrants, and activists who participated in this intercultural workshop. This meeting served as the culmination of the volunteering program on international development cooperation that was organized this year by the Service of International Relations, Development Cooperation and Volunteerism at the UMH.

On this occasion, the attendants toured the Miguel Hernández University that enabled them to see the Elche Campus as well as for them to better get to know each other. After the tour, the dynamics and training workshops began that were presented by the International Solidarity of the Valencian Country, which marked the end to the training and 2022 Volunteer Program.

The Volunteering program in international development cooperation, which is run by the Unit of Cooperation at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche, consisted of basic training, a few days of coexistence and training in Fontilles in June, plus this Intercultural Workshop. Program participants also completed 100 hours of volunteering at one of the NGOs participating in the program.
