UMH and Shanghai University of Engineering Sciences (SUES) strengthen ties to undergo joint projects and foster mobility for students, faculty, and staff

Vice Rector for Internationalization and Cooperation, Vicente Micol, along with representatives from the Asian university, sign an agreement committing to cooperate in training programs for university personnel and organize activities that promote education and culture

Vice Rector for Internationalization and Cooperation, Vicente Micol, along with representatives from the Asian university, signed an agreement this morning on behalf of the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) and Shanghai University of Engineering Sciences (SUES) to undertake joint educational and cultural projects and to foster mobility by university students, Faculty & Research Personnel, and Technical, Management, Administrative & Services Personnel.

This agreement specifies, in addition to cooperation by both entities in training programs for their personnel, advising on matters of interest and the organization and execution of common activities related to social promotion of education, culture, research, and technological development.

Besides signing the agreement, SUES representatives visited the School of Engineering of Elche and toured buildings surrounding the Rectorado.

UMH personnel who accompanied Micol included Deputy Vice Rector for Institutional Position & Rankings, José Manuel Blanes; Director of the Service of International Relations, Development Cooperation and Volunteerism, Inma Blaya; Associate Dean of Coordination and Internationalization, Rafael Doménech; Deputy Director of Communication, International Relations and Mobility, María Ángeles Bustamante; Deputy Director of Teaching Coordination, University Life, Equality and Diversity, Abel Navarro; and the coordinator of the Master’s in Telecommunications Engineering, Vicente Galiano.

Representatives from SUES included its Vice President, Xu Kaiyu; Director of the Office of Safety, Lu Baiqing; Dean of the School of Air Transport and Flight School, He Fajiang; Dean of the School of Textiles and Fashion, Xin Binjie; and its International Coordinator, He Binglum.

Both entities emphasized the importance of this agreement and they hope it represents the starting point of a productive future relationship.
