The UMH is arranging day trips to the areas and towns affected by the flash flooding to assist them in resuming more normal operations at centers, such as schools, institutes, senior centers, service centers, day centers, social centers, among other spaces, which are proposed by the entities that are currently working there on the ground.

These trips consist in volunteer activities that the entire university may participate in, under supervision by the organizations that are already operating in the affected areas. This initiative is being coordinated by the UMH Vice Rectorate for Internationalization and Cooperation.

The primary work to do will consist of tasks that are proposed by the entities working there, and they are related to supporting tasks of cleaning, distributing, and/or classifying materials in classrooms or other designated spaces.

To be able to plan this one day UMH volunteering activity, the following APPLICATION FORM has been generated. The deadline for its completion is November 20, 2024.

These volunteer activities will be planned in such a manner as to produce the least possible impact on ordinary university functions, so its organizers will attempt to conveniently group volunteers accordingly, and will propose that university faculties and schools adjust their class schedules, and establish make-up classes, if necessary, as well as re-organize employee shifts, or any other measures that ensure regular operational activities at the UMH.

As far as UMH employees are concerned (staff, faculty & research personnel), and so this volunteer activity can be treated like a regular working day, a special call will be announced for this purpose so those individuals from this group who have already registered on the form may apply.
