The Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) has reached a series of mobility agreements for students and faculty with seven Colombian universities under the Erasmus+ International Dimension program in meetings led by UMH Deputy Vice Rector for Internationalization, Alberto Rodríguez; the Director of the School of Engineering of Elche, José María Sabater; and the Secretary of the Department of Materials Science, Optics and Electronic Technology, Miguel Ángel de la Casa.

On their trip to Colombia, the UMH delegation visited the University of Valle (Cali), Xavierian Pontifical University (Cali), University of Antioquia (Medellín), National University of Colombia (Medellín), CES University (Medellín), Technological University of Bolivar (Cartagena de Indias), and the University of Cartagena (Cartagena de Indias).

This visit also served to design a plan for implementing online intensive joint online courses to foster the internationalization of student education, as well as for reviewing existing agreements and expanding joint collaboration actions with the mentioned universities.

These efforts in Colombia are a step forward in the internationalization of the UMH, which for many years has been establishing agreements and partnerships with many Latin American countries.
