On Friday, January 10, Rectorado & Consejo Social Hall was host to the Exchange of Good Experiences Workshop for the university faculties, schools and institutes that participated in the UMH Program of Actions for the Internationalization of Schools, Faculties, and Research Institutes (AIEFI) in 2024. Vicente Micol, Vice Rector for Internationalization and Cooperation, commented on this endeavor, stating that it concluded with “very positive outcomes” for international projection of the UMH.

At Friday’s event, which was also attended by Deputy Vice Rector for Internationalization, Alberto Rodríguez, and the director of the Service of International Relations, Inma Blaya, each university unit that participated in the program shared with the others the activities that they carried out throughout 2024. In these interventions, they focused on what yielded the best results and they provided ideas for the others to incorporate to improve their future plans.

Changes to the tenth call for 2025

Micol explained several changes aimed at improving the experience for the program’s upcoming tenth call: “The merit scale for assessing applications in 2025 is going to have a maximum of 14 points, as compared to the 12 points that were applied for the 2024 call.”

Furthermore, two new assessment criteria are going to be added. These include increases to the number of incoming and outgoing students and faculty in the last three years and increases to the number of agreements directed at exchanges by faculty or students during the last three years, and the publication for the AIEFI call appeared earlier so these centers can participate from the start of the new year.

The vice rector also referenced another change, such as the focus on the internationalization of undergraduate and master’s programs, and he also highlighted the investment of one million euros that has been allocated to AIEFI since the start of this program in 2015.

This program strives to contribute to improving international projection of the UMH and to foster strategic planning of the internationalization of undergraduate and master’s programs through the corresponding university units.
