The Vice Rectorate for International Relations, Development Cooperation and Volunteerism at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche is celebrating International Volunteer Day, an event that takes place every year on December 5. This date is an occasion to commemorate the efforts and dedication of volunteers who every day contribute their grains of sand to the construction of a world that is more just and supportive.
The Area of Development Cooperation and Volunteerism has made a commemorative video with several of the volunteers who have participated in the telephone support program of #LaUMHteAcompaña, those in the international volunteer program in Rwanda, in addition to other solidarity initiatives.
Along these lines, Juan José Ballesta, the Development Cooperation and Volunteerism Director, stated that volunteerism is essential for proper societal development, and he expressed his satisfaction with the individual volunteers for being able and willing to participate in projects of this type.
