Workshop Publicizes AIEFI Program Activities
January 18, 2022
A workshop to publicize the activities funded by the Support for the Internationalization of Schools, Faculties, and Research Institutes program (AIEFI) was held on the Elche Campus. The UMH Vice Rectorate for International Relations organized the event, and its participants included high-ranking members from every school, faculty, and research institute at the Elche university, in addition to the Vice Rector for International Relations, Vicente Micol, and his management team.
The AIEFI program was implemented at the UMH in 2016. The financial support it provides aims to contribute by improving international projection of the UMH and to foster strategic planning of the internationalization of training efforts by university units. At the workshop, each participating unit offered a presentation on the internationalizations efforts they have carried out that were made possible by AIEFI support and the benefits brought by it.
This session highlighted the large variety of actions completed by UMH units in recent years to implement their respective internationalization plans. These include, but are not limited to, the preparation of promotional material in English, English language training for university faculty & staff, visits to other universities, involvement by students in internationalization, incorporation into teaching and research networks; holding of seminars, conferences, and workshops that remain in repositories and may be viewed online, etc. The information shared was of great interest for all participants, due to the large variety of actions presented that allowed for the generation of new ideas and projects to implement at the distinct UMH units. The workshop concluded with a roundtable that compiled suggestions by the units that aimed to improve, as much as possible, the forthcoming 2022 AIEFI program call. This new call was welcomed by those in attendance, as its continuity is considered essential for executing their internationalization efforts.
