From today thru Friday, students may employ some of their study time to cast votes for an initiative of their choice. To vote, they only need to register at www.estudioportuescuela.es.

The Altabix Building Library on the Elche Campus is hosting the ‘Study for Your School’ contest thru Friday in which students may participate by helping the advancement of cooperation projects in Africa and Central America.

Students may register ahead of time at www.estudioportuescuela.es. There, they can access detailed information about the projects and then cast their vote into a ballot box that is found at the library.

Votes may be cast for five different projects. The first project aims for children from Guinea Bissau to set up a bicycle repair shop so that they may ride instead of walking so many kilometers to and from school. The second project, in the same country, aims to refurbish schools in remote areas with extreme poverty.

There are a further three project candidates. The third would establish libraries within the Trifinio Region of Central America; the fourth aims to create a football academy in Senegal, and the fifth project strives to assist marginalized areas of prosperous communities.

The organization is awarding a notepad, a full-color double-sided sublimation lanyard with a clasp, and a custom-printed 500 ml aluminum canister as gifts for student participation in the library.

This endeavor is a promotion by the Ministry of Cooperation at the Elche City Hall in conjunction with various NGOs that form part of the local development cooperation council.
