First contact between UMH and Stuttgart Media University for future joint actions and student exchanges

On September 25, a delegation from Stuttgart Media University (HdM; Stuttgart, Germany) spent the better part of the day touring UMH installations, aiming to establish future joint actions and student exchanges in accordance with the internationalization projects at both entities.

The encounter began with a visit to the Service of International Relations, Development Cooperation and Volunteerism, where the German delegation was welcomed by technicians, Paul Nordstrom and Mónica Candela. This was followed by meetings at the Faculty of Social and Legal Sciences of Elche with Associate Dean of Bachelor’s in Audiovisual Communication, Francisco Julián Martínez; Associate Dean of Coordination and Internationalization, Rafael Domenech; Associate Dean of Dual Bachelor’s in Audiovisual Communication and Journalism, Vicente Pérez; and the Associate Dean of Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Management, José Antonio Martínez. An additional meeting was also held simultaneously with Associate Dean of Projection, Equality and Diversity, Yolanda Quiles.

The visit continued with a tour of the Elche Campus that focused on Atzavares Hall. There, the German group saw up close and personal Radio UMH and the television studio.

To conclude their activities, the HdM guests drove up north to see the Altea Campus and its Faculty of Fine Arts. There, they held discussions with the Associate Dean of Bachelor’s in Fine Arts, Elia Torrecilla.

The constituents from Stuttgart Media University included its Head of the International Office, Martina Schumacher; Professor for design and information psychology, data literacy and applied media psychology, Yvonne Kammerer; Professor for business law focusing on IP law, commercial contracts and M&A-transactions, Nicolai Schädel; Incoming Coordinator, Laura Ryhänen; and Professor specializing in directing, screenwriting, film & media history, Hannes Stöhr.

Stuttgart Media University is an entity specializing in communication, and it offers 19 undergraduate and 9 master’s programs that address a wide range in the fields of communication sciences.
