On Wednesday, September 24, Vice Rector for Internationalization and Cooperation at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH), Vicente Micol, along with the president of the Valencian Coordinator of NGOs (CVONGD), Enrique Asensi, signed a new agreement to foster collaboration between the UMH and CVONGD in educational and cultural activities, to train personnel, and for research and technological development.

In Rectorado & Consejo Social Hall, these two representatives described the agreement by saying it will strengthen the relationship between both entities in addition to defining new lines of action, the aim of which is to encourage volunteering and development cooperation locally. Other individuals accompanying them included UMH Director of Development Cooperation and Volunteerism, Juana Aznar; representative from the Elche Territorial Unit at CVONGD, Nieves Lillo; and representative from the Unit of the Province of Alicante at CVONGD, Gara Pulido.

Other lines of action in this new agreement contemplate the possibility of receiving students from the other institution and carrying out research and development projects and programs within UMH facilities as well as at those of the various entities that make up the Valencian Coordinator of NGOs.

The Miguel Hernández University of Elche and the CVONGD have been working closely for the past five years to promote the values of NGOs. The meeting yesterday also highlighted several other points, such as promoting volunteering among the university community and cooperating at upcoming events. One such upcoming event is the University of the Fall IX, which is going to be held at the UMH on October 22 & 23, 2025.
