5 June 2026
The Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) and the Volviendo a Casa Foundation have signed an agreement during a videoconference with both signatories participating from different locations. The goal is to establish a framework for action to foster collaboration and cooperation between the two organizations.
Attendees at the signing ceremony included Vicente Micol Molina, Vice Rector for Internationalization and Cooperation; Isabel Soria, President of the Volviendo a Casa Foundation; and María Jesús Navarro Ríos, Director of the Interdisciplinary Center for Gender Studies (CIEG-UMH). The purpose of this agreement is to implement joint educational and cultural projects and programs, matters related to the activities of both entities, and to organize and implement joint activities related to the social promotion of education.
Such projects and programs will include, among other things, culture, research, and technological development; the exchange of students, faculty, researchers, and administrative staff through educational cooperation programs; and any other activity that is deemed mutually beneficial, subject to the parties’ respective capabilities.
The Volviendo a Casa Foundation was created in 2009, spurred by the passage of laws addressing human trafficking and gender-based violence, as well as by the need to shed light on the most vulnerable communities. Since that time, it has been committed to restoring rights and hope, standing alongside those who deserve a return home. Volviendo a Casa has also strived to support those suffering human rights violations by offering guidance, support, and opportunities to rebuild their lives. Its commitment is to continue building paths of hope so that every person can once again find a safe place to call home.
