The Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) hosted an official visit by Elif Ayyildiz, a representative from Türkiye’s Ministry of National Education, with the aim of strengthening collaborative ties between the two institutions and exploring new opportunities for cooperation in the areas of higher education, research, and internationalization.

Ayyildiz works at the General Directorate of the European Union and Foreign Affairs at the Turkish Ministry of National Education, where she has extensive experience in managing international partnerships. Throughout her career, she has served as coordinator of international agreements and coordinator of international projects, gaining solid experience in promoting educational cooperation initiatives at the European and international levels.

This visit was organized by the director at the UMH Center for Operations Research (CIO), Professor Juan Aparicio, and by UMH part-time lecturer and CEO of Milmoh—a company affiliated with the UMH Science Park—Juanjo Milla. During her stay, she was welcomed by the Vice Rector for Internationalization and Cooperation, Vicente Micol. In addition, the representative from the Turkish Ministry held several working meetings aimed at strengthening institutional ties and identifying potential areas of collaboration concerning mobility, knowledge exchange, and the development of international projects.

In addition to upcoming meetings that are scheduled at the UMH, the institutional agenda has included visits to other educational and training institutions in the Province of Alicante. These include Nit de l’Albà High School, the Federation of Metal Industry Entrepreneurs of the Province of Alicante (FEMPA), and the Elche City Hall.

Holding meetings such as these enable the UMH to reaffirm its commitment to internationalization and to establishing strategic partnerships with leading institutions, thereby promoting academic exchange, educational cooperation, and the advancement of joint initiatives that contribute to strengthening relations between Spain and Türkiye.
