Over October 15 and 16, 2026, the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) hosted the international meeting of the consortium for the European PROWELL+ project, which is part of the Erasmus+ program. The meeting brought together representatives from partner institutions in Spain, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic to advance the development of an initiative focused on promoting psychological well-being and preventing mental health problems in school settings.

At the UMH, the project is led by Professor José Antonio Piqueras of the Department of Health Psychology, along with his research team. During the two-day meeting, held in Altamira Hall, the international partners discussed the progression of the intervention program, the creation of educational materials, the planning of pilot activities, and the next steps for implementing the program at schools.

The meeting also included a visit to the Salesianos de Elche high school, whose collaboration helped bring the work carried out within the project closer to the realities of schools and strengthen the connection between university research and teaching practice.

Through PROWELL+, the participating organizations are working together to devise tools and resources that contribute to improving students’ psychological well-being and preventing mental health-related difficulties within educational settings.

By participating in this European initiative, the UMH reinforces its commitment to applied research, international cooperation, and knowledge transfer to address current challenges in education and mental health.
