VISIT BY THE RECTOR OF THE ESCUELA SUPERIOR POLITÉCNICA DE CHIMBORAZO (ECUADOR)
A delegation from the Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo (ESPOCH) of Ecuador, led by its rector, Byron Ernesto Vaca Barahona, visited the Elche Campus and the School of Engineering of Orihuela (EPSO) at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche to meet with various UMH officials. This activity is a result of the agreement signed between both institutions, and was organized with the objective of examining the possibility of establishing joint master’s programs between both schools.
Specifically, the rector from the Ecuadorian university, accompanied by ESPOCH communicator, Patricio David Moreno Soxo, met with UMH Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, María Carmen Acosta; vice rectors for international relations, África Martínez and Ausias Garrigós; EPSO Director, Ricardo Abadía; and associate professor, Concepción Paredes Gil, promotor of the agreement signed by both universities.
The objectives sought in the agreement signed between the UMH and the ESPOCH include, among others, exchanges between faculty and investigators, in addition to students at undergraduate, master, and doctoral levels. Furthermore, both institutions will work closely on the possibility of carrying out joint degree programs to facilitate the validation and recognition of students’ degrees.
