Guangzhou Polytechnic of Sports visits the UMH
The Vice Rectorate for International Relations at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) welcomed a visit by a delegation from the Chinese Guangzhou Polytechnic of Sports to establish a framework collaboration agreement. The Chinese group consisted of Guoping Li, its Vice President; Qunlin Tan, Director of its Department of Sports; Shanping Xu, Director of its Department of Courses; and Jing Du, the head of libraries there.
During their stay, the delegation met with Vice Rector for International Relations, Vicente Micol; Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Athletics, Francisco Javier Moreno; Director of the Center for Research in Sports Sciences, Eduardo Cervelló; Dean of the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, Francisco José Vera; Deputy Vice Rector for International Relations – Internationalization, Ausias Garrigós; and Sportmate Marketing CEO, Manuel Sola. During their meeting, the Guangzhou Polytechnic representatives expressed interest in the possibilities for reaching agreements to enable mobility for coaches and faculty, and thus enable the exchange of research and knowledge between both institutions.
Furthermore, the Asian delegation met with UMH Rector, Jesús Pastor Ciurana, the Director of the Service of International Relations, Development Cooperation and Volunteerism, Inma Blaya, and Ursula Kress, a technician in that service, to examine the possibilities for mobility agreements between students and faculty. They also toured the UMH Scientific Park, where they saw firsthand the efforts by its companies in the areas of technology, athletics, and nutrition. Finally yet importantly, the guests visited the UMH Center for Research in Sports Sciences to learn of its ongoing advanced research and to tour its athletic facilities.
