BAŞKENT UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR ÖZLEN DARCANSY CARRIES OUT A TRAINING STAY AT THE UMH
Özlen Darcansy, a professor from the Department of Molecular Biology & Genetics and Deputy Director of the Center for Research on Food, Agriculture and Livestock at Başkent University in Ankara, Turkey, has completed a training stay at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche thanks to the Erasmus+ program for university personnel. This program is coordinated by the UMH Service of International Relations, Development Cooperation and Volunteerism.
During her stay, Darcansy toured the facilities of the Institute of Research, Development and Innovation in Sanitary Biotechnology of Elche (IDiBE). There, she met with Antonio Vicente Ferrer, the IDiBe Director. Furthermore, the visiting professor visited the Faculty of Experimental Sciences, where she met with its Associate Dean for Access, Mobility and Infrastructure, Víctor Quesada, along with Pedro Robles, Dean of the Faculty of Experimental Sciences. Darcansy was also able to meet with Luis Martín, the Master’s in Biotechnology and Bioengineering Coordinator, as well as with José Manuel Pérez, a researcher in the Doctoral Program in Agricultural, Agro-Environmental and Food Resources and Technologies.
While she was here, Özlen Darcansy lectured in a seminar on resistance to chemotherapy and reversal of resistance in breast carcinoma that was organized by UMH faculty member, Javier Esteban.
The Erasmus+ mobility training program for university personnel aims to mutually enrich academic institutions through their professionals, an action that also allows for closer links between different faculties and their researchers.
