CANCELLATION OF THE 2020 VOLUNTEER PROGRAM IN RWANDA

On March 14, a state of emergency was declared by the Government of Spain in Royal Decree 463/2020 in order to address the ongoing health crisis caused by the coronavirus. The measures that this declaration imposes, in addition to the directives adopted by the regional government of Valencia, has hereby suspended all mobility by students and faculty as well as all general educational activities for the time being.

This situation, with the uncertainty regarding a possible date for a return to normalcy and therefore the ability to ensure proper management of this call, along a sense of responsibility of not wanting to risk further spread of the virus to Rwanda where it could wreak havoc, has led the UMH to decide against sending anybody to Rwanda this summer. As such, the Area of Development Cooperation and Volunteerism and the UMH Vice Rectorate for International Relations have CANCELLED the Volunteer program in Rwanda for 2020.
