New Website for Prosperity, the UMH Chair of Cooperation and Sustainable Development

Prosperity, the Chair of Cooperation and Sustainable Development at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH), has launched its new website, UMH Prosperity Chair (https://catedraprosperidad.umh.es/).

Its creation aims to make the university community aware of the importance of the commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations.

Furthermore, to emphasize youth, Prosperity is on social media via its Twitter account, @Prosperidad_UMH (https://twitter.com/Prosperidad_UMH). This tool sheds light on one of the P’s of the UN goals, prosperity, in order to be assimilated by society and to form part of everyday activities.

The various actions carried out by the UMH Prosperity Chair focus on the SDGs related to the ‘P’ of prosperity. The main challenges this chair faces refer to economic growth with inclusive and sustainable employment.

Acting under the values of solidarity, sustainability, cooperation, and creativity, this chair aims to foster dignified work and prosperous livelihoods, a motive for why it publicizes the fundamental roles that young people, vulnerable groups, and women play.

Prosperity, the Chair of Cooperation and Sustainable Development is funded by the Generalitat Valencia. This chair is preceded by the Chair of Cooperation and Sustainable Development, whose members include the five public Valencian universities: Miguel Hernández of Elche, Alicante, Jaume I, Politècnica de València, and that of Valencia.

The Generalitat Valencia funds the earlier Chair of Cooperation and Sustainable Development along with the public Valencian universities. Each university focuses on a series of activities (training, research, information, documentation) related to one of the five P’s of the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations (people, planet, prosperity, peace, and partnership).
