Twenty Participants in the Course on Environmental Sustainability from the SDG Point of View

The Area of Development Cooperation, together with the Environmental Office at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche, has just finished the “Course on Environmental Sustainability from the SDG Point of View” with the participation of 20 attendees.

This online training activity took place during February 1-3, and it shed light on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) related to environmental sustainability. The course also highlighted actions for fulfilling the SDGs within university environments and becoming able to transmit and pass on to the university community the importance of these goals for transforming the planet.

Fuensanta García Orenes, director of the Environmental Office and course instructor, pointed out that the event was a success and received active participation by those in attendance. “Without a doubt, these types of initiatives that spread knowledge about the SDGs throughout the university community will facilitate commitment by the UMH to fulfill the [United Nations] Agenda 2030,” she added.

This activity received funding from the Generalitat Valenciana resulting from the collaboration agreement signed between the Generalitat, through its Ministry of Participation, Transparency, Cooperation and Democratic Quality, with the UMH, to carry out actions included in this institution’s University Development Cooperation Program.
