Delegation from UMH visits Cuban University of Holguín on an international cooperation project
Luis F. Brotons and Carmen V. Escolano, professors from the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH), have visited the University of Holguín in Cuba. The UMH and its Cuban counterpart have signed a framework agreement and both have collaboration in the preparation of an international cooperation agreement funded by the Generalitat Valencian to study the economic impact from the creation of a business park in the Holguín region.
During their visit to the University of Holguín, which took place May 16-21, professors Brotons and Escolano met with fellow faculty from that university and with representatives from various public institutions, ministries, and chambers of commerce in order to learn of the characteristics of the Cuban economy and of the business structure of the region of Holguín. They also visited the Scientific and Technological Park of Havana.
For their part, University of Holguín professors Ana de Lourdes Torralbas Blázquez and Jenny Ruiz de la Peña, visited the UMH on May 2-7. While here, they toured the UMH Scientific Park, Business Park of Elche and the Scientific Park of the University of Valencia for insight into Spanish parks and the distinct management styles at them.
This project was selected in the call for international research projects from a 2020 agreement to fulfill the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, which was announced by the UMH Vice Rectorate for International Relations and funded by the Generalitat Valenciana (Conv. GVA-UMH Solcif. 2020/0005).
