The management at the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) has published its forecast to announce calls in mid-May for competitive grants for carrying out development cooperation actions in innovation, including activities of knowledge for development that are completed within Spain during 2023.

The specifics of this call are for co-funding the following:

1. development cooperation actions in innovation that address social, economic, environmental, and developmental problems from the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The actions must promote innovative solutions, already developed and tested successfully at the pilot level, in order to be applied and to demonstrate the possibility of replicating them on a bigger scale to achieve sustainable human development, that is egalitarian and respectful for human rights, gender equality, and empowers women, the environment, and cultural diversity, based on knowledge, increased productivity, competition, and social cohesion. Furthermore, co-funding of the scalability and replicability of innovative solutions already successfully applied in partner countries of the Cooperación Española may be co-funded.

2. Knowledge activities, that include research, applied studies, training, and seminars, that have an innovative component, and refer to the thematic areas included in this call.

For better organization, given that the number of proposals that each entity (in this case the university) may submit for the call, may not exceed 2 for actions and 1 for knowledge activities. Individuals who are interested in participating in this call must notify the Service of International Relations, Development Cooperation and Volunteerism by April 30, 2023, by email to .

Following the deadline, this service will notify the individuals who have expressed interest, to submit a draft project to the same email, by May 15, 2023.
