UMH participates in MUROS International Congress III: Chicana History
18 May 2023
The Spanish Association for U.S.-Hispanic Studies (HCNA), in conjunction with the Vice Vice Rectorate for Internationalization and Cooperation at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH), is organizing the MUROS International Congress III: Chicana History, taking place May 18-20 at the universities UNED-Sede Pedro Salinas and the Miguel Hernández University of Elche. This third interdisciplinary meeting attracts researchers and instructors from Spanish, European, Latin American, and US universities that address border and Spanish-American transatlantic relationships. The Speakers and organisms that are attending the congress will speak on the paradigm of disunity across borders, languages, cultures, and societies to share a space for cultural and academic enrichment with a special focus on Chicano history.
The MUROS congresses aim to provide their participants with a meeting place where they can analyze the conditions and cultural manifestations of the physical and mental borders between Spanish-speakers from all over the world. These meetings offer spaces for debate where education and experiences can be shared on the walls that hinder relationships, dialogue, dissemination of literature, fine arts, as well as transatlantic and cross-border communication.
