Radio UMH presents Medicine and Humanities Study Abroad Program

Radio UMH journalist, Sonia Martínez González, is presenting a special program of interviews about the Medicine and Humanities Study Abroad program that the Miguel Hernández University of Elche is offering, from June 25 – 29, for medical students from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).

During June, as part of the study abroad, the group of students is receiving cross-disciplinary training on the organization of Spanish public health, the importance of preventive medicine, emergency management, hospital operations at the university hospitals of San Juan and Elda, as well as aspects associated with the Mediterranean diet and the links between art and medicine. The program’s academic coordinators are professors José Luis González Esteban (UMH) and Melissa Wallace (UTSA).

The participants in the first radio program include UMH Vice Rector for Internationalization and Cooperation, Vicente Micol, along with Deputy Vice Rector for Projection and International Cooperation, José Luis González Esteban. Click here to listen to this initial program.

Participants in the second radio program are professors from the Public Health, History of Science and Gynaecology, Enrique Perdiguero and María Pastor, in addition to UTSA students, Regina Chapa and Denisse Delgado. To listen to the second program, click here.
