International University of the Americas visits UMH and meets with representatives from Vice Rectorate for Internationalization

This morning, the UMH and the International University of the Americas (UIA; Costa Rica) made first contact for future collaboration projects in a constructive meeting. UMH Participants included UMH Deputy Vice Rector for Internationalization, Alberto Rodríguez; Director of the Service of International Relations, Inmaculada Blaya; and technician from said service, Paul Nordstrom. Their Costa Rican counterparts consisted of UIA Rectora, Mónica Chinchilla; its general manager, Mauricio Monge, and the head of the international area, Nicole Valverde.

During their meeting, held in the Rectorado & Consejo Social Building, both higher education institutions expressed their interest in learning better about each other and establishing a road map for collaboration agreements.

The International University of the Americas, with its principal campus in the capital city of Costa Rica, San José, is an institution some 40 years old and that maintains agreements with over 50 universities in Spain and all around the world.

This meeting is another part of the UMH internationalization process, which is striving to build alliances with different universities and academic institutions from all over the world and foster mobility for university students, faculty, and staff.
