UMH promotes the success and organization of PRODIC program before Spanish universitieses
Alberto Rodríguez, Deputy Vice Rector for Internationalization at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH), spoke on behalf of his university to promote the organization and numerous success stories from the UMH program, Teaching Projects for Internationalization at Home, at the Best Practices of Internationalization at Home Workshop. This workshop was put together by Crue Spanish Universities and took place at Barcelona Tech University (UPC) on July 5, 2024.
Rodríguez, during his presentation, explained how the funding methods for the teaching projects work, how the projects are chosen, in addition to the positive outcomes they have achieved since the creation of this initiative in 2021. To date, some 400 faculty have already participated in the program in over 150 funded programs.
This workshop was organized by Crue Spanish Universities and by the work sub-group, Internationalization Work at Home (IeC) from the Sectorial Commission, Internationalization and Cooperation, at the UPC. Workshop speakers reflected on new international actions to implement at the institutions, and there was also a presentation by Coordinator of Internationalization and COIL and Senior Lecturer in Intercultural Competence at the Faculty of Business and Economics at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, Eva Haug.
The Teaching Projects for Internationalization at Home Program (PRODIC-UMH) that is run by the UMH Vice Rectorate for Internationalization and Cooperation enables UMH faculty plus undergraduate and master’s students to participate in joint training activities with students and faculty from universities abroad using virtual collaborative spaces.
