Start to new edition of Erasmus Mundus Master with students from all over the world

This morning, the Von Humboldt Seminar Room in the Torregaitán Building on the Elche Campus marked the start to a new edition of the Erasmus Mundus Master’s in Translational Cosmetic and Dermatological Sciences (aka EMOTION) in a rousing welcome ceremony with representation by the UMH, which was led by Vice Rector for Internationalization and Cooperation, Vicente Micol.
This program edition has students from many countries, including Albania, Argentina, Brazil, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Macedonia, Mexico, Russia, Spain, Tunisia, Türkiye, and Vietnam.
Micol highlighted significant aspects of the Miguel Hernández University of Elche as well as the city of Elche, and he thanked the students for their presence on day 1 of the new school year. For her part, program coordinator, Asia Fernández, and the director of the Institute of Research, Development and Innovation in Healthcare Biotechnology of Elche, Antonio Ferrer, explained how classes function and all aspects of the program.
Other participants in the ceremony included mobility technician, Elías Poveda, and Club Erasmus coordinator, Salah En Nouiri. They clarified the doubts raised by program students and they explained how electronic procedures work and the services that students may encounter.
To conclude the ceremony, representatives from the Office of Culture, Equality, and Diversity, Mati Baño and Paula Barceló, outlined the lines of action offered by their office and they encouraged the students to participate.
The day’s event continued with a guided tour around the Elche Campus that highlighted significant buildings.
This graduate program is a joint Erasmus Mundus program. Its participants include the universities of Namur (Belgium), Piemonte Orientale (Italy), in addition to the UMH. It receives funding from the Erasmus+ program of the European Commission.
