UMH strengthens links with Colombian universities for exchange programs and future study abroad projects

The Miguel Hernández University of Elche, through its Ibero-America Espejo Program Director, Joaquín Pastor, has strengthened its links with Colombian universities at meetings that are part of the call for Actions for the Internationalization of Schools, Faculties, and Research Institutes (AIEFI).

During meetings held in October 2024, Pastor exchanged impressions with representatives from La Salle University (Bogotá, Colombia), and more specifically, with its Director of International Relations, Dr. Libardo Gutiérrez Mengual; in addition to the dean of its Faculty of Food Engineering, Heidi Tatiana Jiménez. These meetings focused on renewing framework agreements and others specific to students and faculty, as well as for examining the possibility of implementing a dual bachelor’s program between La Salle’s Faculty of Food Engineering and the Bachelor’s in Food Science and Technology, which is taught by the School of Engineering of Orihuela.

They also explored the possibility of putting in motion a semester-long study abroad program with the Faculty of Farming Sciences for agricultural engineering students at the La Salle campus of Yopal.

Other topics of interest discussed with La Salle University, Pereira Technological University, and the University of Antioquia, which all maintain collaboration agreements with the UMH, their respective representatives looked at signing possible agreements for joint international advisory tasks for dual doctorates.
