690 UMH community members offer to volunteer to assist communities affected by flash flooding
27 November 2024
The response by the UMH community to participate in the one-day UMH volunteering initiative to help the areas affected by the flash flooding to regain normalcy has been extremely successful.
In all, 690 UMH community members have registered to participate in this volunteering effort, which is being coordinated by organizations there working on the ground. The breakdown by groups includes 466 students, 117 university staff, 83 faculty & research personnel, and 24 alumni.
With this initiative, the UMH is committed to offering continuous support over the coming months, in conjunction with local organizations to ensure a sustainable recovery in the areas affected by the flash flooding, and thus ensuring that the populations affected are not left out without any assistance.
The Vice Rectorate for Internationalization and Cooperation is very thankful for the warm response to this initiative. This large outpouring is proof of the altruistic and supportive spirit of this university, something which is especially needed at this time.
