UMH welcomes students from Utah Tech University for a STEM training course

This morning, June 9, UMH Vice Rector for Internationalization and Cooperation, Vicente Micol, along with the Deputy Vice Rector for Internationalization, Alberto Rodríguez, welcomed a group of students from Utah Tech University (St. George, Utah; USA). They are here taking a study abroad STEM course on engineering, science, and technology.

Over the course of two weeks, the American student are going to visit UMH research laboratories related to engineering, bioengineering and computer sciences. Off-campus field trips will take them to the WONDERS shoe factory and CONVOTIS Technological Consultants. While here, they are also going to partake in cultural visits to the Huerta del Cura and the Palmeral Museum, in addition to engaging in other leisure activities around the Province of Alicante.

At their home university, the visiting Utah Tech students are enrolled in programs that include computer science, information technologies, mechanical engineering, as well as business administration and management.

This study abroad program is a summer course that is typically designed for US students. These kinds of programs combine technical training and cultural outings. Furthermore, the UMH and Utah Tech University are awaiting the signing of Erasmus KA131 and KA171 projects.
