The Ibero-American Graduate University Association (AUIP) has announced its “Grants for the Defense of Doctoral Theses” program for students in Ibero-American Collaborative Doctoral Training Programs. This initiative, endorsed by Spanish and Latin American universities, aims to help students earn a doctorate, the highest university qualification.

This, the first deadline for applying for financial aid, is December 31, 2025. This deadline applies to doctoral theses that are going to be presented and defended before university examining committees between January 12 and June 30, 2026. There is also a second deadline of June 30, 2026. This second deadline applies to doctoral theses that are going to be presented and defended before examining committees between July 1 and December 30, 2026.

In all, the Ibero-American Graduate University Association is offering 10 grants. Five apply for the first period and the remaining 5 are for the second period. The maximum amount for each of the grants is 2,000 euros.
