13 February 2026
The Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) has strengthened is international profile thanks to its participation in the Ibero-American Graduate University Association (AUIP), an academic network that boosts Ibero-American cooperation in graduate-level education, research, and academic mobility.
Throughout 2025, the UMH integration into the AUIP has resulted in various initiatives that reflect the importance of participating in these types of forums to foster research and academic excellence in different areas of knowledge. As for research network grants, one grant was awarded to the Ibero-American Network for Research in Drug Innovation and Development of the Ibero-American Conference of Pharmacy Faculties (COIFFA), with the aim of strengthening scientific cooperation in health sciences and pharmacy.
Regarding graduate-level academic mobility, two individual mobility grants were awarded: one went to an Argentinian doctoral student for a stay at the UMH Institute of Bioengineering, and another to a part-time lecturer of procedural law at the UMH for an academic stay at the Faculty of Law at the University of Coimbra, in Portugal. Likewise, within the framework of the AUIP Joint Graduate Mobility Program, seven master’s mobility grants were awarded: three for UMH master’s students to study at the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico, and four to go in the opposite direction.
In this regard, the UMH Vice Rectorate for Internationalization and Cooperation insists upon this type of inter-university collaboration and encourages the university community to participate in the calls and opportunities offered by this network to continue strengthening academic cooperation and international mobility.
