UMH and Abdelmalek Essaâdi University of Morocco Consolidate Their Academic Alliance

A delegation from the Faculty of Legal, Economic, and Social Sciences at Abdelmalek Essaâdi University (Morocco) visited the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH). The delegation consisted of the dean of the faculty, Maria Boujaddaine; the Vice Dean of Scientific Research and Cooperation, Mohamed Tlidi; along with the Honorary Consul of Morocco in Alicante, Vicente Farach. The purpose of this meeting was to strengthen the academic partnership between the two institutions.
The UMH representatives who welcomed the Moroccan delegation included Vice Rector for Internationalization and Cooperation, Vicente Micol Molina; Dean of the Faculty of Social and Legal Sciences of Elche, Carmen Escolano Asensi; and Associate Dean of Coordination and Internationalization at the same faculty, Rafael Doménech Sánchez. During the welcome, a new framework agreement signed between the two institutions was presented, and various possibilities for collaboration in Erasmus program projects, student mobility, research, and entrepreneurship were discussed.
The delegation then proceeded to the Service of International Relations and Cooperation, where, following the signing of a new Erasmus+ KA131 international dimension agreement and a pending application for an Erasmus+ KA171 project, other international mobility opportunities were evaluated. These opportunities focused on law and are intended for faculty and researcher personnel (PDI), staff (PTGAS), as well as students.
The visit continued with a meeting at the School of Social and Legal Sciences of Elche, which was also attended by Associate Dean of Bachelor’s in Law, Alfonso Ortega Giménez; and Coordinator of Students, Equality and Diversity, Nuria Reche Tello. During this meeting, the participants explored new avenues for inter-university collaboration in the fields of law, economics, and business.
The visit concluded with a stop at the UMH Science Park (PCUMH), where its Director of Business Growth, Sergio Román García,
presented the park’s various programs and initiatives aimed at fostering technology and business, as well as the career opportunities offered by the companies located there. The Moroccan delegation showed particular interest in the UMH Spanish language training capabilities through the Language Center’s Spanish learning platform, which was presented by Francisco Hernáiz Serna, Director of Communications and Marketing at the UMH Foundation; and Eloy Alarcón Ruiz, Director of Systems Control.
This meeting and the upcoming signing of two new specific agreements are sure to strengthen a relationship that will expand international mobility, cooperation, and academic exchange between the two institutions.
