The Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) continues consolidating international academic relationships. Beatriz Martín del Río and Adrián García Selva, members of the administrative team for the UMH Master’s in Human Resources Management, Work and Organizations (MARHTO), recently completed a work stay at the Autonomous University of Mexico State (UAEMéx) to continue publicizing the dual degree program offered by both higher education institutions.

During their stay, meetings were held with UAEMéx representatives from its Directorate for Scientific Cooperation and Internationalization, the Faculty of Accounting and Administration, as well as with the Academic Committee of the Master of Human Resources Management. An existing agreement links the MARHTO master’s program at the UMH with the Master of Human Resources Management at UAEMéx, and after graduating two classes, it has so far enabled 14 students to participate in this international educational experience.

While in Mexico, the UMH delegation also participated in the Moving Science 2026: Academic Mobility that Transforms Realities Conference, an event aimed at raising awareness of opportunities for academic mobility and cooperation between Europe and Latin America. As part of this event, the dual degree program and the academic and professional opportunities it offers its graduates were presented to UAEMéx students.

According to Beatriz Martín del Río, the MARHTO coordinator, “Our experience shows that exchange programs and mobility enhance learning and they prepare students for the workforce. Students who participate in dual degree programs improve adaptability and practical skills that are particularly valuable in the job market.”

Their visit was funded through an AIEFI grant, which is part of the UMH Program of Actions for the Internationalization of Schools, Faculties, and Research Institutes, and was awarded to the Faculty of Social and Health Sciences by the UMH Vice Rectorate for Internationalization and Cooperation.

This visit enabled the UMH and UAEMéx to reinforce their commitment to international academic collaboration and to training human resources professionals by preparing them to meet the challenges of increasingly global work environments.
