UMH Participates at Study in Spain Fairs in Uruguay and Argentina

The director of international promotion at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH), Mari Carmen Lillo, and the director of the UMH Service of International Relations and Cooperation, Inmaculada Blaya, were participants at Study in Spain fairs held in Montevideo (Uruguay) and Buenos Aires (Argentina). These events, aimed at prospective students, served as a platform to showcase UMH academic offerings and inform young people from these countries about international education opportunities.

Both fairs were organized by the Spanish Service for the Internationalisation of Education (SEPIE), an agency that is part of the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities, in collaboration with the Education Section of the Spanish Embassy in the Southern Cone. More specifically, the fair took place at the Colegio Español Cervantes in Montevideo and, subsequently, at the Instituto Gallego Hispano-Argentino Santiago Apóstol in Buenos Aires.

During the events, the UMH delegation provided direct assistance and personalized information to visitors. At the university’s booth, Mari Carmen Lillo and Inmaculada Blaya presented the various undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs, as well as the study abroad and exchange opportunities offered at the UMH.

Likewise, representatives from the 13 participating Spanish universities attended an official reception at the Spanish Embassy in Montevideo. There, they were welcomed by Ambassador, Javier Salido Ortiz. At the reception, they discussed various issues related to the promotion of higher education in the region and the role of Spanish universities in Latin America.

At the fairs, attendees were able to ask questions about academic programs, admission requirements, tuition costs, plus financing options and scholarships, as well as learn about the characteristics of the various campuses and the university life experience in Spain. The program also featured presentations by the participating universities and the Regional Ministry of Education of the Valencian Autonomous Community, as well as UMH alumni who shared their educational experiences.
